At Hodgson Family Funeral Home, we provide simple funeral services in Hartlepool for families who want a straightforward, respectful farewell. Many people now prefer a quieter, less formal service that focuses on care, clarity, and dignity.
Leisha and Paul will support you personally throughout the arrangements, ensuring everything is explained clearly at your own pace and offering honest advice without pressure or unnecessary additions.
What Is a Simple Funeral?
A simple funeral usually involves a funeral service with fewer elements than a traditional funeral. It may take place at a crematorium or at the graveside and can be religious or non-religious.
This type of service is designed to keep things clear and manageable while still allowing family and friends the opportunity to say goodbye in a meaningful way.
What Our Simple Funeral Service Covers
Our simple funeral service includes all the practical arrangements needed to carry out the funeral respectfully and professionally.
This service includes:
Taking care of all necessary legal and administrative arrangements
Collecting and transporting your loved one from their place of passing (normally within 15 miles of our premises) into our care
Care and preparation of your loved one in our fully equipped facilities within our premises
Provision of taking of your loved ones fingerprints or locks of hair (if desired by the client)
Dressing your loved one in an outfit of your choice or a suitable gown
Provision of an oak effect lacquered coffin, fully lined and fitted with all necessary furnishings
Online tribute page and funeral notice on social media (if required)
The opportunity to visit with your loved one within office hours (9am - 5pm)
Funeral director, pall bearers and traditional hearse to take your loved one from an address of your choice (normally within 20 miles of our premises) to the crematorium or graveside for their service and committal
Embalming is NOT included in the simple funeral price but can be added for £120.00

Disbursements (Third Party Costs) -
These are crematorium/cemetery fees, officiant fees and any other additional costs that we pay out on your behalf and we kindly ask that these be paid within 48 hours of the funeral arrangements
