Once this has been done, you can contact us at any time. We are available 24 hours a day and will guide you gently through the next steps, including caring for your loved one and arranging the funeral.

If the death was expected, contact the deceased’s GP or the out-of-hours medical service so the death can be verified.
If the death was unexpected, you should call 999.

After this, you can call us directly. We will take care of bringing your loved one into our care and explain everything clearly, at your pace.

There is no rush. Most funerals take place within 1–3 weeks after a death, depending on personal wishes, availability, and whether paperwork is required.

Most funerals take place between 7 and 21 days after death. This can vary due to family wishes, availability of crematorium or cemetery dates, and registration requirements.
